Setup

You need access to an LRA VM with the matching connection runtime, uv, and the Google Cloud CLI. Your administrator prepares the VM.

Install

Terminal window
git clone https://github.com/sarj-ai/long-running-agent.git
cd long-running-agent
uv tool install --editable ./packages/long-running-agent

Connect your account

Save your own account and VM coordinates in ~/.config/long-running-agent/config.toml. Your administrator can provide the VM details.

Terminal window
gcloud auth login you@example.com

sarj-connect terminal

Setup configures SSH and your VM user’s terminal runtime. See the three daily commands.

Reconnect

Close or detach the terminal to leave work running. Run sarj-connect terminal to return.

If Google asks you to sign in again, run gcloud auth login you@example.com --force, then reconnect.
